The Beauty of a Mother- Part 2

Good Morning everyone:)I have a gorgeous session to share today…Part 2 of our progressive maternity series (click HERE to see images from a month ago). In today’s series of images Emily is just a few days over 27 weeks. We have three more sessions scheduled before Baby arrives and I cannot wait for each of them! I love being able to capture such an intimate chapter is a mom’s life… the growth of her unborn child. Thank you again Emily for such a wonderful evening!

Love, love, love this series. Have a great day…. it’s almost the weekend!

A Self Portrait

I am just one week away from a fabulous workshop with Joy of Wildflowers Photography and our homework assignment was to capture a self portrait. This was my first attempt at a self portrait and for the hour it took me to gather two decent pictures it was a bit awkward, but also rewarding. Self portraiture is a great way to develop photography skills, have creative control over a “session” and to capture memories with yourself in the frame. I have heard of photographers and individuals taking one self portrait a month to develop these skills and create beautiful art. I am not sure yet, if I am up to the challenge, but I do love the idea of self discovery through a camera lens. So for now, here is my first ever self portrait…

Thursday’s post will be a continuation of the fabulous maternity sessions I have been working on… cannot wait to share!

The To Do List…

The month of May is crazy! I cannot complain, since I have the most fabulous “to do” list this month including some awesome sessions, a little travel, my hubby’s birthday, a long weekend of relaxation, and finally some summer weather:) I seriously have been such a happy girl with all the blessings and opportunities that have occurred in the last few weeks and will happen later on this month too. So, today’s post is a bit of a collection of all the fun projects I have been working on…

First, I am designing and preparing all my goodies for my senior reps! Girls… you will have your product mailed to you by May 18th:)

On Monday I let out a squeal after finding out I won a hour long skype conversation with the fabulous Meg Borders. She is a great natural light photographer who specializes with senior girls. I cannot wait to “meet” her and learn!

I was able to contribute a little advice to a blog that I highly admire. Karen Stott is the founder of Pursuit 31,  a group of Christian women photographers. I have had the opportunity to skype with some amazing women from all over the country, pray and encourage one another, and bounce business ideas back and forth through this amazing group of women.

I photographed a great family of eight. I went to school with Malerie and Ross (brother/sister) and it was so fun to visit and catch up in person instead of through Facebook status updates. Plus they totally rocked some camo shots at the end:)

Also, part two of our progressive maternity session took place just a few nights ago. I am so enjoying this series of sessions!

Whew! That has been my last week… what is going on in your life? Leave a comment- I would love to hear from you!
